Santhanha Nguyen (b. 1990) is a British-born artist currently based in Birmingham, UK. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design (BCU) in 2013 and later completed a PGCE in Secondary Art and Design Teaching before transitioning to a freelance art career in 2024. Nguyen is recognised for her Abstract Expressionist paintings, which explore the intricate relationship between place, identity, and self-perception. In addition to her artistic practice, Nguyen is also engaged in numerology, which influences her creative process and deepens her exploration of themes related to identity and self-perception.

Her work often features portraits and figures that capture deeply introspective moments, using found imagery to create a sense of distance between the artist and her subjects. This method allows the portraits to evolve into abstracted, ambiguous personas, inviting viewers to construct their own narratives and meanings. Nguyen's art intertwines themes of place, memory, and identity, reflecting on how the past lingers within ever-changing urban and natural landscapes.

By delving into Psychogeography, Nguyen blurs the lines between memory and reality. The landscapes in her pieces serve as silent witnesses to forgotten stories and buried emotions, imbuing her work with a haunting sense of nostalgia and abandonment. Through her art, she seeks to evoke deep emotional connections, mirroring the inner conflicts and contradictions of contemporary life, and encouraging viewers to explore their own perceptions and emotions.
